.ORG Becomes First Generic Top-Level Domain to Deploy Enhanced Domain Security Protocol (DNSSEC)

Key Findings Show That .ORG Registrations in 2009 Grew 8.4 Percent Over Previous Year. RESTON, VA–(Marketwire – February 18, 2010) –  .ORG, The Public Interest Registry today released the results of its second bi-annual domain name report, “The Dashboard,” illustrating the continued growth of the world’s third largest generic Top Level Domain (gTLD) since the first half of 2009. Overall, the number of new .ORG domain registrations rose by a healthy 14 percent, while its number of domains under registration grew by 3.5 percent from July to December 2009.
