Feature: Bob Bell, Founder of Food For Thought Denver
Food For Thought Denver is built around a simple but powerful belief: no child should have to face the weekend hungry. Since 2012, the volunteer-run nonprofit has worked alongside schools across the Denver metro area to provide PowerSacks filled with nutritious, shelf-stable food so children and their families have meals when school cafeterias are closed.
Founded by Bob Bell after learning how many students relied on school meals and went without food on weekends, Food For Thought has grown from serving two schools to more than 91. By providing PowerSacks to every student in participating schools, the organization removes stigma while ensuring families can access support with dignity.
