As many of us in the domain name industry prepare for the ICANN meeting in Panama City I thought it would be good timing to provide an update from the Public Interest Registry board on the process for recruiting a new President and CEO.
We have now agreed on a job description and appointed a recruitment company, and hope to have an advertisement and candidate pack out in early July. We will be following a thorough process with the final interviews expected in late September or early October and we hope to have the successful candidate in post by the end of the year. Our Interim President and CEO will return to being a board director and will be handing over a company we believe is in excellent shape for the new CEO to take forward.
As .org is one of the oldest and largest TLDs with a strong reputation for trust and integrity, we believe this is one of the premier roles in the domain name industry and we are looking for excellent candidates to apply. To support this, the five PIR board members who will be attending the ICANN meeting in Panama City will make themselves available to answer any questions that you have about the role and what skills and experience we are looking for, and any questions you may have about the company strategy and board. If you would like to speak to us in Panama City then please contact our Interim President and CEO, Jay Daley.
Please expect a further update in early July when the formal recruitment process will begin.
