Can you believe that December is here already? What a year 2013 has been, an exciting one at that! From global conferences and meeting with NGOs, to revealing Public Interest Registry’s new branding and the revamped face of pir.org to the world, our team has been hard at work, and anything but quiet!
We were very pleased to wrap up last week with the 10th anniversary of the Manthan Awards, an initiative that recognizes the best use of Information Communication Technology (ICT) and digital tools for social good and community development in South Asia. This was the third year in a row that Public Interest Registry sponsored the event, and it was such a fantastic experience to meet and speak with grassroots NGOs whose technological efforts are truly improving community development despite their access to minimal resources.
As we start to head into the holiday season, our team is getting ready for the new TLDs that are soon coming to the Internet, and we are preparing the launch of our own, including .NGO, .ONG and IDNs – in Chinese, Hindi, and Cyrillic.
Thank YOU so much for all of the positive encouragement surrounding our new branding and our new TLDs coming soon, the feedback has been extremely positive. Cheers to a great year and a prosperous 2014; we can’t wait to make these platforms available for your cause, your idea, your passion, and your reason!
Sincerely,
The Public Interest Registry Team
