Public Interest Registry is a global nonprofit organization created by the Internet Society to be an exemplary registry with responsibility for operating the .org Top Level Domain (TLD), one of the original three TLDs. As an advocate for collaboration, safety and security on the Internet, Public Interest Registry’s mission is to empower the global noncommercial community to use the Internet more effectively, and to participate with other Internet stakeholders on policy and other issues related to the registry’s role within the domain name system.

We currently have the following vacancy:

Associate Counsel – The Associate Counsel (“AC”) of the Company provides legal advice on internal matters as well as maintains relationships with appropriate industry experts. The AC reports to the Company’s General Counsel (“GC”) and will assist the GC on strategic and tactical legal initiatives. The AC will provide management with effective advice on Company strategies and their implementation, assist in management of the legal function, and assist in obtaining and overseeing the work of outside counsel. The AC will be directly involved in complex business transactions in negotiating critical contracts, and will provide legal advice that guides the Company towards conformance with legal requirements. Additionally, the AC will have a policy function to assist and coordinate with the GC and the Company’s Policy Department to develop and implement policy that keeps the Company at the forefront of serving the global public interest in the Internet. The AC will also assist in the management of the Company’s Anti-Abuse Program for domain name registrations.
