Mr. Kabir has spent 29+years of his career playing as a leading role as the Social & Industry evangelist for e-Development, Telecommunication, ICT for Development (ICT4D), Business Development and ICT Consultancy. He has unique quality of experience and contribution in an inclusive manner in multi-stakeholders of Private Sector, NGO & Civil Society, Public Sector Policy Makers, Academia and Media. He is known as Transformational Leader, Strategic Visionary, Elite Communicator, and Change Agent.
Mr. Kabir is the Secretary General & CEO of Association of Mobile Telecom Operators of Bangladesh (AMTOB) is the national apex body of all cellular mobile operators of Bangladesh since October 2012. He is also the Policy Advisor of Telecom & ICT Sector. During this tenure with this association, he has been successfully developed AMTOB as well reputed trade organization acceptable to government level as well as to all stakeholders. He has played an instrumental role for changing policy and regulations which facilitate the Industry and the Government.
He has been working as the top-level management in leading National Trade Business Chambers & Associations in Bangladesh; He was the former Sr. Vice-President of both Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industries (DCCI) and Bangladesh Association of Software & Information Services (BASIS). He was one of the founders of Bangladesh Telecentre Network (BTN); Founder and Vice president of Intellectual Property Association of Bangladesh (IPAB).
Mr. Kabir was elected as a member of the .ORG Top Level Domain Global Advisory Council for 2012-2019.
Mr. Kabir has worked for 12 years in a Dutch multinational company AKZO-NOBEL in the role of Deputy Controller and Head of IT.
Mr. Kabir also contributed in many International and National event as the Key-note Speaker, Moderator, Trainer and Panel Discussant. He has been contributing articles, opinions in different national daily newspaper and magazines as a writer and columnist.
Mr. Kabir has played an instrumental role in the implementation of policy & process between Government and Private sector in Public Private Partnership (PPP) and Public Private Dialogue (PPD), which contributed to a major change in policy for private sector development. He is one of the founders for formation of BUILD (Business initiative Leading Development).
He was the Founder, Managing Director & CEO of couple of IT and Software Solutions & Services Company employing over 40-60 Software engineers and technicians. Which provides value-added consulting solutions and ICT services to Bangladeshi organizations and leading global players, and has specific expertise in ICT for Development.
He is also a mentor & HR development expert and contributed as visiting professor at various leading universities, teaching Computer Science & Engineering, Business Strategy & Management, e-Business, and Intellectual Property in Computer Science, BBA & MBA programs.
He has led various projects in National and International organizations which contributed to qualitative changes through capacity building and value creation for required objectives. As a national ICT expert, he has contributed to the National ICT Policy formulation committee and Telecommunication Policy and played a role in formulating the National ICT Roadmap for Bangladesh. Nurul Kabir has participated and contributed in WSIS Forums and Internet Governance Forums (IGF) on national and international levels during 2003.
Mr. Kabir is final part-1 qualified of Cost and Management Accountants and Masters of Management and Business Administration. He also earned diploma in Strategic Management, HR Management and Operational Development Management. He has also completed 3 months short course on Information Management from Malaysia. Certificate course on AS400 System Management and CL & RPG Programing from IBM. Apart from these he also completed a Senior Management development program from Netherlands.
Mr. Kabir has been actively engaged with Rotary International movement and contributing humanitarian services. He is the Life Member of Assistance for Blind Children (ABC).
