The US Open

The "US Open Court of Champions" honors the greatest champions in the 122-year history of the U.S. Championships, which spans three centuries, beginning in 1851, becoming the US Open.

While nine sites have hosted the five U.S. National Championship events since 1881, the West Side Tennis Club in Forest Hills, N.Y., has hosted the most championship events (210 of the 610 contested).

The 2010 US Open features the richest purse in tennis history. This year's US Open purse tops $22.6 million, an increase of $1 million over last year's record purse. .
