Tuesday’s NTEN Webinar: PIR’s Plans for .NGO

It’s been quite a busy few months here at PIR. Our team has continued its travels across the globe—most recently to India, Brazil, Senegal, Argentina, Korea, and Bangladesh—to meet with global non-governmental organizations to educate them on our .NGO initiative and better understand how we can help them with their online needs.
Given this state of non-stop jet lag, forgive me if I’m quite excited to be able to connect with the non-profit community on .NGO on Tuesday from the comfort of my own office (before getting on a plane to Europe next week). On December 6th, I’m presenting a webinar entitled “Product Spotlight: How Nonprofits or NGOs Can Take Advantage of the Newly Evolved Internet in conjunction with Nonprofit Technology Network (NTEN). The webinar will address the pending changes to the Internet with the expansion of top-level domains (TLDs), and our pursuit of .NGO.
As we are getting closer to submitting our application to ICANN, we look forward to hearing feedback on .NGO from even more members of the NGO community that we’ve come to know so well through our work with .ORG.
During the webinar, participants will learn about:
- ICANN’s new TLD program and how it will change the Internet as a whole;
- PIR’s intentions for .NGO and how it will differ from .ORG;
- The added benefits and services that will accompany the .NGO domain;
- Why PIR is a qualified organization to manage the .NGO domain.
The feedback we’ve received so far on .NGO has been incredibly positive, and meeting with a diverse group of non-profits through opportunities such as this is critical to our continuous commitment to the NGO community and making sure we are encompassing all of their needs and concerns in our proposal.
The webinar will take place on Tuesday, December 6 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. ET. To register, please visit:
